How the Battery Life Cycle Estimator Works
The calculator computes your total usable battery energy across its full cycle count and divides it by your daily usage rate. This gives you:
- Total kilometers/miles your battery can deliver in its lifespan.
- Total days, months, and years of usable life.
- Estimated replacement time.
- Lifetime value based on daily usage.
Typical Battery Cycle Ratings
Most lithium-ion eBike batteries last:
- 500 cycles for standard 18650/21700 lithium packs.
- 800–1000 cycles for premium branded cells.
- 2000–3500 cycles for LiFePO₄ packs.
Example Calculation
If you ride 30 km per day and your bike battery lasts 800 cycles delivering 50 km per charge, your total lifetime is 40,000 km of usage. That equals roughly 3.6 years of daily commuting.
Factors Affecting Battery Lifetime
- Charging to 100% frequently accelerates wear.
- Heat reduces cycle life significantly.
- Storing batteries fully charged shortens lifespan.
- Avoid deep discharges below 20% for maximum lifespan.
